Even though UA-Fayetteville won't play, this would be fun for UALR

BURN THE HORSE
Check out this link below. Akron is hosting Ohio State in soccer this week. And Akron probably faces many of the same hurdles that UALR faces. I guess the biggest difference is that Ohio State doesn't think it's program will cease to exist if it plays on the field.

We'd like to see a trade your UA-Fayetteville shirt for a UALR shirt promotion. We'd really like to see it at the front door of the Stephens Center on game nights.

UALR gets commitment from Austin Bowie's Mareik Isom, first for 2012

BURN THE HORSE
It’s been a quiet recruiting summer for the UALR men after advancing to the NCAA Tournament. Things look like they’re starting to pick up and the Trojans appear to have their first commitment for the 2012 class.
Austin (Texas) Bowie shooting guard Mareik Isom visited last week and has committed to sign with UALR in November. Isom is a 6-6 guard who was being recruited by Air Force and Louisiana-Monroe in the end. He also had interest from Manhattan, NJIT, Rutgers, Sam Houston State, Texas-Pan American and others.

UALR Coach Joe Foley gets 10-year contract

BURN THE HORSE
UALR women's basketball Coach Joe Foley has been given a 10-year contract, the school announced on Monday.
"I am extremely happy that we could put this contract together for Joe and his family," UALR Athletic Director Chris Peterson said. "My goal is that during my tenure we never have to hire another women's basketball coach. With the Chancellor's endorsement and the assistance of private support, we were able to put this package together. The prestige and national prominence that Joe has brought to UALR, central Arkansas and the women's basketball program is greatly appreciated by the alumni and friends of the university."

Tickets on sale for third annual SpectacUALR

BURN THE HORSE
I have to admit that I was skeptical the first year UALR did SpectacUALR. But it turned out to be a great success and a lot of fun. Last year was the same. This year should also be a blast.
