Neighbour gets in three games as Great Britain Futures go 2-1 vs U23 Germany

BURN THE HORSE
Will Neighbour's Great Britain Futures team went 2-1 in its three games in Germany this weekend. It's difficult to get statistics (although we do have them from Game 3). It's also not clear how much Will played in each of these games. But he does show up a couple of times in some stories.

UALR loses Joe Golding to Abilene Christian

BURN THE HORSE
We're extremely happy for Joe Golding, but a little disappointed for UALR.
Golding left UALR on Monday after accepting the head coaching position at NCAA Division II Abilene Christian.

UALR's Will Neighbour tunes up with games for Great Britain's Futures Team

BURN THE HORSE
As it turns out, UALR sophomore Will Neighbour's first game action in more than a year won't have to wait until November.
Neighbour has been selected to play for Great Britain's Futures Team and will get some game action later this summer in Germany. Neighbour redshirted last season at Daytona State with a shoulder injury and has not played competitively since last summer's U20 European Championships.

Former Trojan Asriel Rolfe joins UALR women's coaching staff

BURN THE HORSE
Congrats to former UALR point guard Asriel Rolfe, who has joined the UALR women's basketball staff as Director of Basketball Operations.
She replaces Rebecca Peoples, who leaves after only one season with the Trojans.
Rolfe was a four-year starter at point guard, playing with numerous leg injuries throughout her career.

Tulsa Shock releases UALR's Chasity Reed

BURN THE HORSE
It's
Not surprised givent that she didn't get minutes in either of the past two games, but the WNBA's Tulsa Shock has waived former UALR star Chastity Reed.
When Coach Nolan Richardson resigned last week it seemed like it was going to be tough for Reed to stick with the Shock. It turns out that she lasted only one more game.
We'll have to wait to see if she gets picked up by another team. Otherwise, it's likely off to Europe for Reed. Those leagues don't get the notoriety that the WNBA gets, but they do typically pay higher salaries.
   Best of luck to Chas.
